Job summary

City of Toronto’s Engineering & Construction Services (ECS) Division seeks a Senior Project Manager/Senior Engineer to provide project management, technical input, and engineering oversight for planning, design, construction and operation of its programs and infrastructure.

You will apply advanced engineering knowledge while coordinating large, complex projects to ensure technical accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education degree or diploma in civil and/or municipal engineering.
Extensive contract and project management experience from inception to implementation.
Experience in developing reports, RFPs/proposals and presentations.
Experience in client management and communicating with a diverse group of stakeholders.
To be eligible for the Senior Engineer position, registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or licensing as a professional engineer in good standing in another Canadian engineering association with the ability to obtain a P.Eng. licence with PEO.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-disciplinary project teams for municipal infrastructure programs and capital works.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks and quality for city-wide initiatives.
Oversee contract administration, tender processes and consultant selection.
Coordinate with internal divisions, external stakeholders and Councillors as a technical specialist.
Mentor staff and ensure adherence to City policies and standards.
