Job summary

Affinity is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead ERP/SCM transformation efforts, modernizing core systems for improved efficiency and growth. The role focuses on end-to-end project leadership, governance, and cross-functional collaboration across business units.

The successful candidate will manage full project lifecycles, facilitate workshops, and report progress to executives, while guiding teams through significant process and system changes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of recent, related experience as a project manager with PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Experience supporting ERP, SCM, or other enterprise business system initiatives.
  • Independently managing the full project lifecycle for medium-to-large projects.
  • Experience leading governance and presenting updates to senior leaders.
  • Gathering and managing requirements from multiple stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
  • Facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions and requirements workshops.
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation (charters, schedules, risk logs, decision logs).
  • Coordinating activities across cross-functional teams including business and technical resources.

Job Description

On behalf of our public-sector client, Affinity is seeking a Senior Project Manager – ERP/SCM Transformation to modernize several mission-critical systems to enhance operational efficiency and support future growth. The core systems in scope include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of assigned project(s), ensuring all core activities (project planning, governance, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and delivery management) are completed on time and within scope.
  • Conduct a stakeholder impact analysis to define and establish the core project and delivery teams, ensuring they include the necessary resources from across the organization.
  • Establish governance for the project, all while ensuring adherence to LDB decision-making frameworks and reporting structures.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project status reporting, aligning milestones with project objectives and outcomes, including executive-level reporting on progress, risks, and recommendations.
  • Oversee budget planning and financial tracking for the Discovery phase.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communication planning, ensuring transparency and alignment across business units.
  • Ensure quality assurance of deliverables, including output from the requirements gathering workshops
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization, quickly establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand business and operational requirements and translate them into actionable project plans and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting governance and steering committees, including preparing materials, facilitating discussions, tracking decisions, and escalating issues as required.
  • Ability to identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and bottlenecks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
  • Experience leading requirements gathering activities, workshops, and stakeholder consultations to support project planning and delivery.
  • Experience preparing key project deliverables such as project charters, project plans, business requirements, options analyses, status reports, and decision materials.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate project information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs within a dynamic project environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in business administration, commerce or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience as a project manager*, and a Project Management Certification from a recognized institution (i.e., PMP). OR;
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, i.e., a minimum of 8 years of recent, related experience as a project manager* with formal courses and/or certification in business administration, commerce or a related field, and a Project Management Certification from a recognized institution (i.e., PMP).
  • Experience supporting ERP, SCM, or other enterprise business system initiatives
  • Recent, related experience as a Project Manager must have occurred within the last 10 years and include:
  • Independently managing the full project lifecycle for one or more medium-to-large projects or project workstreams.
  • Projects involving a significant business process, operational, or organizational change component.
  • Projects involving a significant technology or systems implementation, enhancement, or modernization component.
  • Gathering and managing requirements from multiple stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
  • Leading project planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution activities.
  • Supporting governance and presenting project updates, risks, issues, and recommendations to senior leaders and project sponsors.
  • Facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions, workshops, and requirements gathering activities.
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation, including project charters, schedules, status reports, risk registers, and decision logs.
  • Coordinating activities across cross-functional teams, including business and technical resources.
  • Delivering projects or workstreams that have organizational impact across multiple business areas.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience with retail/wholesale businesses.
  • Knowledge of the liquor industry.
  • Change management expertise, including application of models such as PROSCI / ADKAR.
