Job summary

Affinity is seeking a Business Solutions Manager for a 6-month contract to drive Disaster Recovery and Cloud Backup initiatives. The role centers on documenting business cases and project plans, gathering requirements, and shaping an RFP while aligning IT and business stakeholders.

You will lead workshops, translate strategy into requirements, guide design and testing, and oversee small to mid-size projects with a focus on governance and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating and working with industrial and building data systems.
• Experience gathering requirements to build an RFP and forming a business case.
• Experience assisting with developing a project plan and building test cases.
• Experience with Agile/Lean or Waterfall methodologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex requirements-gathering and stakeholder workshops across multiple business units.

• Define solution scope, objectives, success criteria, and business cases.
• Partner with technology teams to guide solution design, development, testing and implementation.

• Support change management and transition to sustainment.
• Develop and deliver training and knowledge-transfer materials.

On behalf of our public-sector client, Affinity is seeking a Business Solutions Manager to work on our Disaster Recovery and Cloud Backup project and ensure our portfolio continues to meet evolving business needs. The 6-month contract will be focused on documentation (Business case and Project Plan) and gathering requirements to build an RFP.

Deliverables

• Lead complex requirements-gathering and stakeholder workshops across multiple business units.
• Analyze and translate business strategy into functional and system requirements.
• Define solution scope, objectives, success criteria, and business cases.
• Partner with technology teams to guide solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Lead quality assurance activities, including test strategy, test plans, and acceptance validation.
• Provide oversight for small to medium projects, including planning, scheduling, and reporting.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement across initiatives.
• Support change management, implementation reviews, and transition to sustainment.
• Develop and deliver training and knowledge-transfer materials.
• Provide internal consulting and advisory services to business and IT stakeholders.
• Maintain high-quality documentation to ensure consistency and governance compliance.

Required Experience: Intermediate to Senior

Demonstrated experience integrating and working with industrial and building data systems, including:

• Disaster Recovery to Cloud with Network experience is a must.
• Experience with gathering requirements to build an RFP and Formulating a Business Case.
• Experience assisting with the development of a project plan and building test cases.
• Agile/Lean or Waterfall an asset.

Required Technical Skills And/or Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT Business Analyst role.
• Proven experience leading complex or cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience managing small to medium projects.
• Experience working with enterprise or digital platforms (e.g., CRM, integrations or transactional systems).
• Degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Requires experience with MPLS and SD-WAN standards.

Skills That Would Be An Asset

• Business Analysis (BABOK), ITIL, and/or Project Management certifications are assets.
• Experience with inventory or materials management systems is an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Results-oriented mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and change.
