Job summary

TMX Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex, business-driven initiatives within a regulated financial services environment. You will work within the PM Chapter to govern the PMLC, define scope with senior management, and drive end-to-end delivery of multi-million dollar programs.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and timelines, and report to steering committees.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering on business driven initiatives for Financial Institutions in a regulated environment related to Clearing Systems.
• Experience working in a project management office governing the PMLC practice.
• Experience with end to end project delivery (business and IT) of projects over $2M.
• University/undergraduate degree in related discipline or equivalent PM work experience within the financial services industry.
• Ability to navigate a fully matrixed environment that is complex and ambiguous.
• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• Background delivering projects using SDLC, Iterative and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent relationship building abilities and understanding that partnership is key to successful delivery.
• Prior experience with regulators and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope with senior management and identify key drivers and metrics for evaluation.
• Determine resources (time, money, equipment) required to complete the project.
• Create an integrated plan covering scope, schedule, costs, communications, resources, risks, and vendors.
• Develop a detailed project schedule and allocate resources.
• Review schedule with senior management and affected staff; revise as needed.
• Execute the project according to the plan and monitor budget, scope, and timelines.
• Escalate variances and manage changes per TMX processes.
• Ensure project information is documented and stored centrally.
• Monitor progress and adjust course to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide regular project status and steering committee reporting as per TMX standards.
• Lead the project team in re-estimating effort and costs at gates with approvals for revisions.
• Keep documentation on the PM lifecycle processes up-to-date and relevant.
• Enhance templates and processes to improve audit objectives and delivery efficiency.
