Senior Project Manager – Business Development (Vancouver)

DJ&A is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing a wide range of professional services nationwide. Specializing in Transportation Design, Survey & Mapping, Sustainability, Site Development, Utilities, Construction Inspection/Management, Geospatial Solutions, Terrestrial LiDAR, 3D Scanning, Structural Design, Project Management, Community Involvement, Right of Way, and Environmental Compliance, we work in scenic locations such as forests, parks, monuments, campgrounds, and federal lands across the United States. We are expanding our presence in Vancouver, WA, aiming to grow our civil engineering market share.

Founded in 1973, DJ&A has offices across Montana, Colorado, Washington, South Dakota, New Mexico, and Nevada. Our team of over 180 professionals delivers diverse engineering, environmental, survey, landscape architecture, and planning projects for federal, local, tribal, and private clients.

We seek a full-time Senior Project Manager with 15+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in leadership and supervision. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Civil Engineering, Design, and Survey industries, regional market drivers, and trends, along with skills in business development, client relations, and sales growth.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Business Development:

  • Participate in strategy development, market research, and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support client interactions, scope development, and ongoing relationships.
  • Collaborate with leadership on growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, serve as client manager, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Lead proposal development, including writing key sections and negotiating contracts.

Staff Development/Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor staff, participate in recruiting and retention efforts.
  • Assist with staff management, evaluations, workload, and training.
  • Ensure staff performance and provide technical guidance.

Project Management:

  • Manage design and delivery of infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring objectives, schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain client contacts and support marketing efforts.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure high-quality, cost-effective project completion.

About you:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and dynamic.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with dispersed teams.
  • Established network of clients and partners in western Oregon and/or Washington.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional licensure in relevant discipline.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • 15+ years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Experience managing complex projects, including with federal and state agencies.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Range approximately $120,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience.
