Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary construction programs in Ottawa, drawing on 10+ years of large-scale project experience. You will drive execution, manage budgets, schedules and safety, and coordinate with designers, clients, and on-site teams to deliver value.

This site-based role requires strong leadership, contract awareness, and the ability to align stakeholders across civil, M&E and architectural scopes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as Project Manager with a major general contractor on large, complex projects.
• Degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related field.
• Experience with industrial, commercial, or institutional projects across all phases (structural, civil, M&E, architecture).
• PMP or relevant certification is desirable.
• Ability to plan and execute projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Strong understanding of contract law and its application.
• Proficiency with Excel, MS Projects, Word, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam for project controls.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex interfaces on site.

Responsibilities

• Review project contracts to understand requirements including timelines, budget, safety, quality, staffing, materials, and equipment needs.
• Liaise and coordinate with designers, technical teams, and clients on all technical aspects.
• Analyze project designs, technical reports, and background information.
• Develop and implement execution plans detailing construction staging, workplans, materials, subcontracting, and equipment needs.
• Coordinate with discipline managers to ensure proper construction sequencing and staging.
• Provide technical assistance and recommend effective construction methods and equipment.
• Manage quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, and scope development for civil, earthworks, and wet utilities.
• Oversee project execution to meet design, budget, and schedule goals, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, including managing expectations, progress reports, and communication.
• Monitor and ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and adherence to contractual obligations.
• Oversee onsite activities, quality, productivity, progress, and safety of teams and subcontractors.
• Address potential roadblocks proactively and resolve any arising issues.
• Implement and monitor safety programs.
• Manage requests for information and issue field instructions as needed.
• Prepare comprehensive progress reports.

Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary education in civil engineering or a related field is required.
• Full cycle new build project experience working on industrial, commercial, institutional projects is required, overlooking all phases and scopes from structural, civil, M&E and architectural.
• PMP or relevant certification is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying contract law and language.
• Experience with project management tools such as Excel, MS Projects, Word, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam.
• Strong technical, communication, organizational, managerial, and planning skills.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities.

Work Conditions

• Full-time, site-based position.
