Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ progressive project-related experience.
  • Experience managing high-value, high-complexity projects with inter-dependencies and uncertainty.
  • Advanced project management knowledge including plan development; scheduling; metrics; risk/issue assessment; budgeting.
  • Advanced stakeholder management knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Deep working knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute projects with value ranging between 1MM to 10MM CDN and above, managing scope, requirements changes, and budget impact.
  • Collaborate with Business/Technology Owners to ensure deliverables achieve business results.
  • Seek industry trends to understand alternative approaches and solutions.
  • Facilitate joint planning with the client in early stages of project formation.
  • Develop integrated baseline project plans and manage performance against them.
  • Determine quality standards and oversee production of management documents.
  • Identify and manage project costs and budgets; anticipate operational risks.
  • Raise and track risks, issues, and conflicts; escalate when required.
  • Facilitate schedule and cost forecasting; mentor project managers.

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned projects to ensure project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved timeframe, scope and budget. You will also manage projects with a moderate to high level of value (benefit/cost), and a high level of complexity and uncertainty OR manage projects as part of a Program reporting to a Program Manager.

What will you do?
  • Plan and execute projects with value ranging between 1MM to 10MM CDN and above (benefit/cost), and at least a high level of complexity and uncertainty including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics/assumptions
  • Work with Business/Technology Owners to ensure that the deliverables achieve the business result that enables value creation
  • Seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches and/or solutions
  • Facilitate joint planning with the client in the early stages of project formation
  • Develop integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; document estimating assumptions, refine plans and manage performance against them
  • Determine quality standards and oversees the execution/production of management documents
  • Identify and manage project costs and budgets anticipating operational and some tactical risks
  • Raise and track risks, issues and conflicts, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and elevate them to immediate manager when required
  • Facilitate schedule and cost forecasting; mentor project managers in determining risk based provisions
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 5+ years’ progressive project-related experience
  • Experience managing projects with high level of value (benefit/cost), and a high level of complexity, inter-dependencies and uncertainty
  • Advanced project management knowledge including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, analyzing, and reporting; risk and issue assessment and quantification methodologies; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management
  • Advanced stakeholder management knowledge and leadership skills
  • Possesses a deep working knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies
Nice to have
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Credit Cards (acquiring/issuing)
