This is the Rundown: Who We Are

Being one of the larger privately-owned construction companies in North America, Reliance offers general contracting services in all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery. Over the last year, we’ve grown continuously due to our employees’ performance, but mostly through their passion, focus, and determination. This expansion has not let us forget that we are still a family-owned company established in 1948. Our presence in the construction industry over more than half a century has led us to an unparalleled understanding of the industry, allowing us to provide our clients with a sense of complete trust and confidence. They rely on us to complete a project they’ve envisioned, and we accept that responsibility to make it a reality.

The Role: Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the project’s administrative demands from pre-construction budgeting and scheduling all the way through to procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, project turnover, and contract closeouts. The Senior Project Manager, along with all members of the project team, must collaborate to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Lead the project team and ensure the project is completed within budget, on schedule, and conforms with the design documents.
  2. Assist the Project Director/Vice President in working with all departments including estimating, scheduling, procurement, labor relations, finance, accounting, and other services as required.
  3. Participate in developing project bidding strategy with the project team.
  4. Prepare scopes of work for each trade, assemble bid packages, and administer the tender process.
  5. Review and provide schedule information for bid documents.
  6. Participate in contract negotiations.
  7. In collaboration with the project Superintendent, develop a logistics plan to coordinate contractor activities, mitigate project impacts on the neighborhood and traffic.
  8. Coordinate and integrate activities of the project Superintendent, Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and support staff.
  9. Establish priorities for the project staff based on owner and project requirements.
  10. Review and approve all major purchase orders, change orders, and requisitions.
  11. Establish regular meetings with contractors and design team to review shop drawings, equipment/material lead times, on-site dates, manpower projections, quality issues, etc.
  12. Identify factory visits and schedule accordingly.
  13. Monitor contractor/vendor pending costs and ensure the cost report is updated monthly.
  14. Review and approve project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports.
  15. Ensure the owner is informed of deviations from the project baseline data.
  16. Coordinate client communications to ensure consistency in reporting.
  17. Conduct monthly project/client meetings to review progress, costs, schedule, and issues.
  18. Obtain client approvals for project changes.
  19. Prepare and submit the final project report and ensure prompt subcontract closeout.
  20. Obtain client acceptance and sign-off for the completed project.

What You’ll Need:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
