We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility and civil construction projects from beginning to completion. This role demands strong leadership, budgeting, and communication skills, with a focus on underground and overhead utility installations, civil infrastructure, and maintenance work.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full project lifecycle including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and close-out.
  • Lead project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to meet deadlines and project goals.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues proactively, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate project logistics such as permits, utility locates, inspections, and municipal/client reporting.
  • Maintain thorough and organized project documentation, including scope changes, progress tracking, and billing.
  • Review and process requests for information (RFIs), change orders, and other contract communications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Maintain strong relationships with utility providers, municipal representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Support the preparation and review of estimates and tender submissions.
  • Assist with tender evaluations, contract negotiations, and project start-up planning.
  • Track project expenses and performance against budgets; implement cost control measures where needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred holder of Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
  • 5+ years of experience in utility or civil construction, including at least 2–3 years of direct project management responsibility.
  • Experience managing underground/overhead high-voltage work, streetlighting, or related civil construction is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, estimating, procurement, and project delivery methods.
  • Valid G-class driver’s license and ability to visit project sites as required.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach and strong cost control mindset.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards in all aspects of project execution.
