Job description

We have an excellent 2 years contract opportunity for a Senior Project Manager in Ottawa / Toronto.

Work will be done REMOTELY on an ad hoc basis.

Must Haves :

  • Eligible for Reliability level Federal Security clearance is mandatory.
  • Project Management : experienced in managing projects / programs; comprehensive knowledge of project / program management methodologies and tools, including Agile methodologies.
  • Financial Management : strong understanding of key concepts of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, ROI development etc.
  • Delivery methodology : knowledge and experience in agile / scrum / iterative Development and waterfall.
  • Experience successfully leading a range of midsize-to-large initiatives with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality.

Job Posting Title : Project Manager – Senior

SCOPE

Reporting to the Experience Transformation Program PMO Lead, the Satellite System Lead is mainly responsible for ensuring integration with systems impacted by the Experience Transformation Program. The Satellite System Lead works closely with each of the Program Stream PM’s and Business Architects to help plan, execute, and deliver project tasks on time and within budget and scope in accordance with business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of each of the program phases, the Satellite System Lead oversees all aspects of the project (i.e. budget, schedule, scope, issues and risks), sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities and prepares reports regarding the status of the project.

DUTIES

  • Lead implementation of program methodology within stream.
  • Ensure coordination of the satellite systems touch points across all Experience Transformation Program streams.
  • Build the integrated view of the satellite level workplan including dependencies.
  • Accountable and responsible for managing escalated issues and changes.
  • Work with the Streams to identify risks and risk mitigation strategies related to any of the satellite systems.
  • Work with the Streams to identify any change processes and key records of decisions.
  • Govern the work request process required for Innovapost.
  • Coordinate 3rd Party & Innovapost work activities with the XT Stream PM and Business Architect.
  • Drive integration between the program and Delivery BSDs for all satellite system activities.
  • Secure the SOW for any required POs for the Satellite systems to support the Experience Transformation Program.
  • Conform with Program Management standards and manage the record keeping for the satellite activities on the following :
  • Status Reporting.
  • Budget.
  • Issues : risk, decision and change logs.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

Must Have :

  • Project Management : experienced in managing projects / programs; comprehensive knowledge of project / program management methodologies and tools, including Agile methodologies.
  • Financial Management : strong understanding of key concepts of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, ROI development etc.
  • Delivery methodology : knowledge and experience in agile / scrum / iterative Development and waterfall.
  • Experience successfully leading a range of midsize-to-large initiatives with above-average levels of complexity and business criticality.
  • Experience managing large, complex investment budgets.

Soft Skills :

  • Facilitate and encourage collaboration and work as one team. Encourage agile approaches and ability to iterate to create innovation.
  • Ability to navigate through uncertainty and lead change within the organization.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
