Position Overview

The Commercial Large Loss Senior Project Managermanages large-scale and highly complex restoration projects from initial assessment through completion. This role oversees multiple high-stakes projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and customer satisfaction while meeting strict timelines and budgets. The Project Manager of Large Loss and Complex Claims is the primary liaison for clients, adjusters, consultants, and other stakeholders, offering technical expertise and maintaining professional relationships

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage large loss and complex claims projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, insurance SLAs, and applicable regulations;
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of job sites to determine the scope of work and create detailed Xactimate estimates and floor plans;
  • Develop project plans, ensuring adherence to strict timelines and budgets;
  • Coordinate with personnel, subcontractors, and job activities to maintain efficiency and quality standards across large-scale projects;
  • Manage and maintain accurate documentation in internal and external systems, ensuring timely updates and transparency for stakeholders;
  • Secure work authorizations, deposits, and required approvals to initiate projects;
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients, adjusters, consultants, and insurers, providing clear and professional communication throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Obtain necessary permits and collaborate with inspectors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Strengthen client relationships through proactive communication and participation in industry networking and business development opportunities;
  • Manage project finances, including interim and final billing, collections, and financial reconciliations for large-scale claims;
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols across all job sites, working closely with the Safety Coordinator to mitigate risks;
  • Lead and mentor team members to ensure successful project delivery and support professional development;
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies to provide effective leadership and ensure timely resolution for high-priority incidents;
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of large loss projects to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with best practices;
  • Represent BELFOR professionally at site meetings, ensuring the company's interests and values are maintained;
  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by conducting hazard assessments, maintaining organized and hazard-free job sites, and ensuring proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and PPE. Promptly report and document unsafe conditions or incidents, actively participate in safety training and inspections, and support organizational safety initiatives as directed by the Health and Safety Department;
  • Foster customer satisfaction by maintaining professionalism, building strong relationships, and ensuring prompt, accurate communication with clients, subcontractors, insurance adjustors and other relevant stakeholders; and
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required :

  • Expertise in complex claims management, advanced estimating techniques, and managing large-scale restoration or construction projects
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience managing high-pressure client relationships
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to protecting client property and information
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle in compliance with BELFOR’s Auto Policy
  • Must be able and willing to travel extensively, including overnight and out-of-state trips, often on short notice
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in construction, business, or project management
  • 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Deep understanding of building codes, insurance restoration procedures, and industry standards
  • Experience using JD Edwards
  • Advanced proficiency in Xactimate, XactAnalysis, Encircle, and DocuSketch
