BGIS is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead end-to-end project delivery in Calgary, Alberta. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within scope and budget, while maintaining regulatory and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • College or University degree in architectural technology, construction technology, engineering technology or equivalent work experience
  • More than 5 years of project management work experience
  • Advanced ability to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, within specifications, and in-compliance with all requirements including regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Advanced ability to develop and manage project budget

Responsibilities

  • Defines project scope, deliverables and requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements project plans with timelines and budgets.
  • Determines resource and budget requirements, cost estimates and timelines.
  • Identifies risks and develops mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitors delivery against timelines and ensures timely completion.
  • Oversees project team members and task completion.
  • Communicates project status to stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, environmental and health and safety requirements.
  • Develops and maintains effective client relationships and manages expectations.
  • Provides supervision to project administration and coordination roles as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Summary

The Senior Project Manager plans and oversees the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects and ensures delivery within scope, budget and requirements. At this level, projects are typically of moderate to high complexity, risk and exposure. In addition, the role may also be accountable for providing immediate supervision to project administration and coordination roles.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Plans and oversees the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects. At this level, projects managed are typically of moderate to high complexity, risk and exposure.
  • In collaboration with project stakeholders, defines project scope, deliverables and requirements.
  • Develops and implements project plans.
  • Determines resource and budget requirements, cost estimates, and timelines.
  • Identifies project risks and develops and implements mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitors project delivery against timelines and ensures timely completion.
  • Oversees the activities of project team members and monitors project task completion.
  • Communicates project status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget and requirements, and complies with all regulatory, environmental and health and safety requirements.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients.
  • Responsible for resolving issues, managing client expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction.

People Leadership

  • May be accountable for providing immediate supervision to project administration and coordination roles
  • Other duties as assigned

Urgent Project Requirements

  • Project will be initiated immediately; Project manager works with the operations team to identify and collect requirements.
  • Start an immediate risk assessment, cost estimates, and kick off meeting with all concerned parties as an introduction and forecast of next steps.
  • Funding is generally completed "on the fly" a good understanding of benchmarking, and or current industry costs to provide budgets to the client.
  • Able to work independently on challenges to ensure the project keeps moving.
  • Understands the importance of a regular cadence of communication.
  • Navigate the client's organization, to capture who should be engaged and when for project updates.
Skills & Qualifications
  • College or University degree preferably in architectural technology, construction technology, engineering technology or equivalent work experience
  • More than 5 years of project management work experience
  • Advanced ability to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, within specifications, and in-compliant with all requirements including but not limited to regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Advanced ability to develop and manage project budget
  • Advanced ability to mitigate and manage project risks

  • English is required because you will be dealing with English-speaking customers as part of your job.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

One or more of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Project Management Institute Accreditation.
  • LEED certification

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $92,942 - $116,178 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to experience, education, professional designations and performance related to this role.
