Job description

Our client, a leading Canadian industrial contractor specializing in construction, maintenance, and shutdown services for the mining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and infrastructure sectors across Western Canada, is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to join their team on a major project in Burnaby, BC.

This is a full-time, site-based role offering the opportunity to support high-profile mechanical and piping scopes within a dynamic, hands-on industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project coordination support for a major mechanical and piping project within an industrial environment
  • Assist with daily construction activities including field coordination, RFI preparation, and document control
  • Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers to track progress and support field execution
  • Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to ensure alignment with construction activities
  • Assist with material tracking, delivery scheduling, and onsite logistics planning
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, safety documentation, and daily reporting
  • Monitor project schedules and help identify potential risks or delays
  • Support site meetings, minute-taking, and communication between field and office teams
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • 3–8 years of experience in a project coordination, field engineering, or junior project management role within industrial, mechanical, or heavy construction environments
  • Mechanical background preferred; experience supporting mechanical scopes such as piping or industrial installations is highly valued
  • Degree, diploma, or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, work packages, RFIs, and field documentation processes
  • Familiarity with mechanical scopes, piping systems, and construction methods in industrial settings
