Job summary

CoFoMo Inc., a Montreal-based IT firm, seeks a senior financial controller to consolidate and present financial reports for governance and portfolio monitoring committees. You will support managers by aggregating data from project managers, team coaches, and epic managers to enable informed decisions.

Your role includes coordinating financial monitoring activities, analyzing variances between budgets and actuals, and ensuring traceability and justification of expenses across governance bodies.

Qualifications

• Fifteen years of experience in information technology.
• Five+ years in financial control within IT projects.
• Strong budgeting, financial analysis, and management and business support practices.
• Experience coordinating IT projects in Agile mode.
• Experience in SAFe environments is a strong asset.
• Double reporting in a public sector SAFe context is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce and present consolidated financial reports for governance and portfolio monitoring committees.
• Consolidate financial data from project managers, team coaches, and epic managers to support decision-making.
• Coordinate financial monitoring by analyzing, documenting and communicating indicators for decisions.
• Prepare and interpret variance analyses between budget forecasts and actual expenditures.
• Ensure traceability and justification of expenses to governance bodies.
• Analyze, validate and follow up on invoices against procurements, contracts and purchase orders.
• Review monthly financial reports, investigate discrepancies, and follow up on corrections.
• Follow up on pending purchase orders and regularize identified financial situations.
• Collaborate with program and project managers to maintain up-to-date schedules and budgets.
• Produce and transmit required financial reports to management and stakeholders.

Here is a brief overview of the tasks and responsibilities:

• Produce and present consolidated financial reports for the various governance and portfolio monitoring committees?;
• Support managers by consolidating financial data from project managers, team coaches, and epic managers?;
• Coordinate financial monitoring activities by analyzing, documenting and communicating the indicators necessary for decision-making?;
• Prepare and interpret variance analyses between budget forecasts and actual expenditures?;
• Ensure the traceability and justification of expenses to the various governance bodies?;
• Analyze, validate and follow up on invoices by verifying concordance with procurements, contracts, purchase orders and other supporting documents?;
• Review monthly financial reports, investigate any discrepancies or unexpected charges, and follow up on required corrections?;
• Follow up on pending purchase orders and ensure that identified financial situations are regularized?;
• Collaborate with program and project managers to maintain up-to-date, reliable and accurate schedules and budgets?;
• Produce and transmit the required financial reports to management and relevant stakeholders?

The profile we are looking for is as follows:

• Have fifteen (15) years of experience in information technology?;
• Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial control in an IT project environment?;
• Demonstrate significant experience in project financial management, including tracking actual costs, reconciling invoices and identifying financial variances;
• Master budgeting, financial analysis, management and business support practices?;
• Have a solid experience in coordinating IT projects carried out in Agile mode?;
• Demonstrate experience working in a SAFe environment, a strong asset?;
• Act as a financial analyst and guarantor of double reporting in a public sector SAFe context, ensuring consistency between SAFe tracking mechanisms and traditional project management approaches (waterfall)?.
