Job summary

Graham in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Project Accountant to support the Buildings Divisions. You will manage end-to-end accounting for a portfolio of projects, including close, billing, and cash flow analysis.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in project accounting within construction or related fields, a degree in Commerce or Accounting, and SAP ERP experience. CPA designation is preferred, with a strong focus on audits and process improvements in partnership with Operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead project accounting and month-end close for a portfolio of projects.
• Manage contracts, billing, AR, collections, and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and lead audits.
• Prepare cash flow analyses and support budgets and reviews.
• Partner with Operations on project setup and process improvements.

Graham is actively recruiting a Project Accountant to support the Buildings Divisions. Reporting to the Operations Finance Controller, this role provides end-to-end accounting and financial support for a portfolio of building projects, including project controls, reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Your Role in Building What Matters - From Office to Site

• Project Accounting & Close - Lead transactional accounting, reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, and month-end close.
• Contracts, Billing & Account Receivable - Manage subtrade contracts, owner billings, Account Receivable, collections, and change order reconciliations.
• Compliance & Audits - Ensure compliance with accounting standards, contracts, tax, and regulatory requirements, lead audits.
• Financial Reporting & Cash Flow - Prepare and analyze cash flow, Account Receivable, Account Payable, and support budgets and monthly reviews.
• Operations Partnership & Process Improvement - Partner with Operations on project setup, bids, and contract administration while driving system and process improvements.

The Right Tools for the Job

• Education & Credentials: Degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Experience: 8+ years of relevant project accounting experience, ideally in construction, engineering, or heavy manufacturing environments.
• Skills & Systems: Advanced ERP proficiency (SAP preferred), with experience supporting audits, compliance, and system/process improvements.

Compensation

• Salary Range $80,000 to $100,000 per annum
• Compensation aligned to education and experience, ensuring fair and competitive placement
