We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our clients finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of their design projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all project-related accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Track project budgets, costs, and billings, ensuring adherence to project timelines and financial goals.
• Prepare and analyze project-specific financial reports, providing insights to project managers and senior management.
• Oversee project invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition.
• Monitor project-related accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage project cash flow, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies related to project accounting.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to resolve project-related financial issues.
• Assist in the preparation of project-related financial statements and audits.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of project accounting processes and systems.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in project-based accounting, preferably in a design, architecture, or related industry.
• Strong understanding of project accounting principles, including work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project managers and other stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
