Job summary

Medavie is seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to oversee enterprise QA and testing platforms, liaising with stakeholders and vendors to ensure reliable, secure testing tools aligned with needs.

You will manage platform administration, upgrades, and governance, while supporting continuous improvement in QA practices across the organization.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

The Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for the operational management, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise quality assurance and testing platforms. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, internal technology teams, and external vendors to ensure testing tools and platforms remain reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational needs. The successful candidate will oversee platform administration, vendor relationships, contract renewals, system upgrades, and operational processes while supporting the ongoing evolution of quality assurance practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operation, administration, and support of enterprise QA and testing platforms.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, including issue resolution, service reviews, contract renewals, and product roadmap discussions.
  • Coordinate platform upgrades, enhancements, patches, and release activities while minimizing operational risk and disruption.
  • Support QA operational processes including test planning, defect management, requirements traceability, reporting, and integration workflows.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, manage priorities, and implement platform improvements.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and utilization while identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Support governance activities including documentation, process compliance, reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Partner with development, QA, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure platform stability and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and vendor offerings and provide recommendations to support business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, knowledge sharing, and subject matter expertise while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the QA and testing ecosystem.
Required Qualification

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology Management, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands‑on experience in automation test development using modern automation frameworks and tools. Required technical expertise includes Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON, along with proficiency in Node.js, Git/GitLab, and Oracle RDBMS. Strong experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Selenium JS, WebdriverIO, Protractor, and Cucumber. Solid understanding and practical application of Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD), Test‑Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies. Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated testing solutions within Agile delivery environments. Minimum of 3+ years of experience supporting QA operational processes and tool administration, including JIRA, ConnectALL, and ALM. Proven success developing automated tests for web applications, REST services, and transaction‑based systems. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and iterative development approaches. Experience working with XML, JSON, and modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries. Knowledge of Lean Agile, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery best practices. Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work proactively with minimal supervision.

Other Qualifications

Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and microservice architecture. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments. Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. Knowledge of secure coding practices and modern software design patterns. Experience mentoring developers or QA automation professionals. Experience integrating multiple testing tools and frameworks to support enterprise quality assurance practices. Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes. Passion for continuous learning and exploring new technologies and approaches.

Language Skills

English (spoken and written) required. French (spoken and written) is considered an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement

In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, candidates must be eligible to obtain Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check, and candidates must have resided in Canada for a minimum of five years and hold either Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizenship status.

Pay Range: $73,465 - $91,831
