Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant in Canada to lead contaminated sites investigations and remediation projects across Manitoba. You will manage scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables while mentoring junior professionals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Science and a professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., RPBio) or eligibility, with 10+ years in environmental consulting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering/Science or related field.
  • Professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., RPBio) or eligibility to obtain registration.
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting experience focused on contaminated sites assessment and remediation.
  • Experience managing projects including budgeting, scheduling and client communication.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports, proposals and client-facing deliverables.
  • Strong field experience with commitment to health and safety excellence.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contaminated sites investigation, remediation, and environmental management projects from planning through completion.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources and technical deliverables while ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare proposals, technical reports, and innovative environmental solutions to meet client objectives.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate environmental professionals.
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental stewardship across project activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex environmental and sustainability challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and contribute to the Earth & Environment practice's ongoing success.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Biology, or a related discipline.

  • Professional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., RPBio., or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain registration.

  • 10+ years of environmental consulting experience with a focus on contaminated sites assessment and remediation.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, including budgeting, scheduling, client communication, and resource planning.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, contaminated sites legislation, and industry best practices.

  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports, proposals, and client-facing deliverables.

  • Strong field experience with a demonstrated commitment to health and safety excellence.

  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.

Grade 7 | Tier 2 from AdVantage_Flattened_Pay_Transparency_Dataset_MAIN.xlsx.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000

MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
