Job summary

WSP Canada in Calgary is seeking an Environmental Project Coordinator to support environmental planning, assessments, permitting, and regulatory activities while keeping project documentation, schedules, budgets, and teams aligned.

You will coordinate environmental activities, assist with planning studies and submissions, prepare technical reports, track budgets and progress, and collaborate with clients, regulators and Indigenous communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of environmental consulting or related field.
  • Working knowledge of environmental assessment, permitting, and regulatory processes within Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, regulatory applications, permit submissions, or other project documentation.
  • Experience supporting project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, invoicing, progress tracking, or project financial administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel; CAPM or related credential would be an asset.

  • Contribute environmental and regulatory insight to infrastructure, energy, mining, transportation, land development, and other projects.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, Natural Resource Management, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental planning, permitting, regulatory affairs, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of environmental assessment, permitting, and regulatory processes within one or more Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, regulatory applications, permit submissions, or other project documentation.
  • Experience supporting project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, invoicing, progress tracking, or project financial administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally for project and client needs. Experience with project management systems or progress toward a CAPM, Project Management Certificate, Environmental Professional designation, or similar credential would be an asset.

Compensation:

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $65,600 - $88,100

MB & ON: $59,800 - $83,500

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $59,200 - $79,800
