Job summary

Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Production Coordinator to join our team onsite. The role focuses on coordinating production workflows across assets, layout, animation, CG and FX teams, with emphasis on scheduling and delivery.

The candidate should bring 3+ years of Production Coordination experience in VFX or related fields, strong Shotgrid skills, and a proactive, collaborative attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years as a Production Coordinator in VFX Feature Film, CG animation Feature Film, or Game production.
• Advanced understanding of frontend/backend workflow for assets, layout, animation, CFX, FX, and lighting/compositing.
• Proficient with production scheduling and Shotgrid for tracking and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Proactively schedule team assignments and track work within bid days and quota targets.
• Coordinate with assets, layout, animation, and other teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate production status to Creative teams and the client when required.
• Support artists directly and help resolve hardware/software licensing queries.

Requirements

Have at least 3 years as a Production Coordinator in VFX Feature Film, CG animation Feature Film, or Game production.

Technical and Operational Skills:

• Have an advanced understanding of the frontend/backend workflow for digital production, specific to Assets, Layout, Animation, CFX, FX, &/or Lighting/Comp teams
• Have an advanced understanding of production VFX and CG or Game scheduling
• Have an advanced understanding of Shotgrid
• Be able to navigate who to speak to for artist queries relating to hardware and software license issues
• Tracking of shot work and work within bid days and quota targets.
• Proactively schedule team assignments and flag potential inventory and delivery challenges
• Scheduling and willingness to learn and master all imageworks scheduling & tracking software
• Acquiring resources & elements required to complete shot production within your assigned team
• Diffusing inventory challenges
• Ability to set up sweatbox or review rooms independently, and know who to contact in case of technical issues. If remote, know the process for remote connection.

People and Self-Management Skills:

• Have an expert ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
• Be able to expertly collaborate and communicate in a constructive and professional manner
• Be proactive, self-motivated, and the driver for your team!
• Providing direct support to artist teams
• Communicating with Creative teams while keeping Production informed
• Depending on the team, you may be required to interact with the client regularly. Client interactions must be professional and timely. Interactions with the client are included but not limited to: reviews, email communication, and notes.

Compensation: CAD $25.96 - CAD $27.00 /hour CAD
