Job summary

Safariland in Pembroke, Ontario is seeking an experienced assembly operator to join our production team. You will operate production line equipment, assemble components, and ensure quality standards for complex units.

The role requires at least five years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting and the ability to read and communicate in English. You may mentor junior staff and contribute to maintenance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of assembly experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate and read in English.

Responsibilities

• Operates production line equipment with a level of complexity requiring the specified training or assembling products, units, machines, equipment, and/or subassemblies that are larger, heavier, and/or more complex.
• Drills, taps, or reams holes using drill press or portable drill; aligns components and bolts, screws, or rivets them together with hand or powered tools; tests operation of completed product.
• May cut materials.
• Assists more junior operators in performing skilled functions.
• May repair units that fail to meet specifications.
• Mounts assembled components on chassis panels; handles transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, ICs, sockets.
• May perform assembly operations under microscope or magnifying device.
• May lead, guide, and train less experienced employees.
• Perform inspection to ensure maintenance of quality standards.
• Other duties as required.
