Job summary

Sonele is seeking an Assembly Technician in Markham, Ontario, for the production of electromechanical devices. The role requires reading engineering drawings, performing quality-focused assembly, and maintaining organized, safe work areas.

You will work day shifts (7:30am-4:00pm) with potential overtime during peak production. Candidates should have a mechanical background and be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or post-secondary training in mechanics or related fields.
  • 1–5 years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
  • Experience with machine assembly and tooling is an asset.
  • Able to read procedures and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality workmanship in the assembly of electromechanical products.
  • Read and work from established procedures and engineering drawings, schematics or blueprints.
  • Complete checklists and production forms during the assembly process to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Bolt, screw and fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Work effectively in a team with other technicians to achieve production and quality goals.
  • Responsible for reporting problems or issues to Quality and Engineering departments in a professional manner.
  • Maintenance duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate a high degree of housekeeping and organization.

The Company

Sonele develops and manufactures medical devices within an ISO13485 & FDA-registered facility and is also a leading ultrasound OEM manufacturer specializing in high-performance transducers. Sonele’s ultrasound division designs and manufactures medical and industrial transducers offering significant advantages in performance and reliability. We are located near Highway 407 and Woodbine Ave in Markham, ON.

The Opportunity

Sonele is looking for an Assembly Technicianwith technical skills and tool experience during the assembly of electromechanical products. They are also required to display a high quality of workmanship while following established procedures during the manufacturing of these products.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality workmanship in the assembly of electromechanical products.
  • Read and work from established procedures and engineering drawings, schematics or blueprints

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school and/or post-secondary education in mechanics, hydraulics and/or electrical or certification in related studies.
  • 1-5 years in related work experience in manufacturing and/or a production environment. Machine assembly, millwright or auto mechanic experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and tools required in various assembly processes
  • Computer skills are an asset.
  • A team player who is able to perform independently to complete daily activities according to a work schedule.

  • Demonstrated focus on the work provided, able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle materials, components, and equipment weighing up to 30 lbs, as well as perform hands-on assembly tasks.

Shift:
Day shift (7:30am-4:00pm), overtime may be required at the start or end of shift depending on production requiremen ts

Salary Range:
$18 - $20 Hourly
