Senior Product Manager, Group Retirement Savings

Empire Life is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Group Product & Marketing team. The GRS Product Manager will oversee the Group Retirement Savings line of business, focusing on creating a simple, user-friendly product that supports employer and employee savings goals. This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, as it involves managing all aspects of product development and serving as a subject matter expert for the sales team, including developing sales pitches with distribution partners. The position reports to the VP of Group Product and Marketing.

What you’ll be working on

• Understanding the Group retirement savings landscape and competitive offerings.
• Managing all facets of the business, focusing on plan design and product development.
• Launching new investment products like DPSP and RESP, leading cross-functional teams.
• Developing and presenting product proposals and business cases to senior management.
• Understanding customer needs and mapping customer journeys for sponsors and members.
• Researching the competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and market pricing.
• Supporting sales and market development through strategies, presentations, and marketing materials.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of experience in product management, development, or plan design in the Group Retirement Savings space.
• Knowledge of investment product implementation processes.
• Understanding of B2B and B2B2C markets.
• Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and KPIs.
• Customer-centric mindset with marketing and needs assessment experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Flexible, adaptable, and willing to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Proficiency in English is required for communication across Canada.
