Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance on product design strategy, offering advice and recommendations to cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, and Marketing to inform business outcomes
• Lead parts of the product design process on initiatives from discovery and ideation through wireframing, prototyping, testing, iteration, and delivery
• Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions, and evaluate outcomes against business goals and objectives
• Ensure craft excellence, consistency, and alignment with design systems and product guidelines
• Present to stakeholders, ensuring design standards and accessibility principles are met
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design researchers and product stakeholders, to inform design decisions through research discussions, user testing, and data analysis

Hybrid, Toronto $65–$68 / hr, 37.5-hour week

The largest bank in Canada is seeking a Senior Product Designer to work on a new internal tool for advisors and associates. They are replacing a fragmented set of existing tools, giving you the opportunity to integrate data and make building client reports a better experience.

You will work on the end-to-end design function, from strategy and product design to user research and design systems. You'll be part of a design culture that drives innovation, elevates user experience, and differentiates in a competitive market.

What you'll do

• Provide strategic guidance on product design strategy, offering advice and recommendations to cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, and Marketing to inform business outcomes

What you'll bring

• A BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. user experience design, interaction, visual communications, product, industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of product design experience across multiple channels and platforms
• Banking or financial services experience in a complex and ambiguous environment
• Experience in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and design practices
• Experience with AI adoption in design, along with comfort experimenting with and using new tools across design, prototyping, research, and ideation
• A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, leadership outcomes, integrated user research, and measurable impact
• Exceptional communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
