CBC Edmonton is seeking a Senior Producer to lead Radio Active, its popular afternoon radio current affairs program that keeps listeners informed and engaged. You will work with a team of journalists to create exclusive and entertaining live, on-air programming for three hours daily, Monday through Friday.

CBC Edmonton is looking for a senior producer to lead Radio Active, its popular afternoon radio current affairs program that catches listeners up on the news of the day and brings the sounds of this growing city to their supper-hour commutes.
Reporting to the executive producer of programming and engagement, the senior producer will work with a team of journalists to create exclusive and entertaining live, on-air programming that energizes and entertains audiences three hours a day, Monday through Friday.
We’re looking for a strong, dynamic leader who is innovative and adaptive, and who inspires others to experiment and take risks. You will be a strategic thinker who puts audience needs at the centre of your decision-making, ensuring our programming connects listeners with the news they need to know, the stories that affect their lives and the issues that resonate in their communities. You also understand the value of fun for audiences tuning in after a long day.
You are confident in making independent editorial decisions and are naturally collaborative, skilled at navigating conflict and change, breaking down silos and developing a creative and inclusive culture. You will guide, coach and support all members of the Radio Active team, and collaborate with journalists across the newsroom, and work closely with our communications department.
You will also play a role in developing and supporting content for CBC Edmonton’s digital platforms including a weekly podcast, live story pages and video content for CBC Edmonton’s streaming channel.
