Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor for our Oil & Energy client in Fort McMurray, AB. This full-time, 1-year contract role offices in Fort McMurray and requires in-person collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

The position manages RFx, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and full PO lifecycle while driving procurement strategies and cost savings for mine and oil sands projects. Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, SCM, Commerce, or related field.
• 5–10 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial experience.
• Experience supporting capital projects; Mine & oil sands experience is an asset.
• Strong experience with: Strategic sourcing, RFx management, Supplier evaluation and selection, Commercial negotiations and Purchase order lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of supply chain risk management and procurement best practices.
• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass or similar procurement systems.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement and sourcing activities for Mine & oil sands capital projects.
• Manage RFx processes, including bid preparation, supplier evaluations, and award recommendations.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supply agreements.
• Manage the full purchase order lifecycle, from requisition through closeout.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery, quality, and cost objectives.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support supply risk mitigation initiatives.
• Maintain procurement documentation, reporting, and SCM KPI tracking.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
