Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, process, or mechanical engineering
• P.Eng license in Alberta
• 10+ years' experience in process mechanical design, equipment selection, condition assessment, and commissioning for municipal wastewater facilities and pump stations
• Demonstrated leadership, mentorship and staff development
• Experience dealing with local utilities for service connection and design coordination
• Knowledge of Hydraulic Institute, AWWA, and provincial water/wastewater codes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently or in teams to meet deadlines with high-quality work
• Experience with ASME, NFPA and Building Codes is an asset
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for relevant buildings is an asset

Responsibilities

• Lead process and mechanical engineering teams in design and delivery of large municipal water and wastewater plants and pumping stations
• Provide technical support and leadership in design development and specifications
• Coordinate between multiple disciplines and advise clients
• Perform condition assessments of facilities and pump stations
• Prepare design reports, calculations, and cost estimates
• Engage with suppliers, review shop drawings, and manage site visits and change orders
• Support proposal preparation and lead process mechanical scope in marketing efforts
