Job summary

ATCO Structures & Logistics Ltd. leads process engineering within ATCO EnPower, providing technical leadership across governance, optimization, and asset performance for major projects and sustaining capital.

The Lead Engineer, Process Engineering acts as a technical authority, guiding design, reliability, and efficiency while partnering with operations, asset integrity, and project teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably chemical engineering.
• P.Eng. registration in Alberta.
• Minimum 15 years of oil and gas industry experience with expert process engineering knowledge.
• Knowledge of process design, modelling, equipment sizing, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and optimization methodologies.
• Technical knowledge of facility design and operations across natural gas, natural gas storage, industrial water, syngas, hydrogen, or related operations.
• Understanding of reliability, asset management, operational performance, and lifecycle management principles.
• Facilitation skills to lead technical workshops and cross-functional problem-solving.
• Strong communication to convey complex technical information to stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking, change management, and continuous improvement capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support to operations through troubleshooting and performance analysis; improve safety, reliability, availability, and efficiency.
• Support management of change, debottlenecking, optimization, and facility impact assessments through modelling and oversight.
• Provide process design, equipment sizing, and technical support for sustaining capital, growth projects, and major projects.
• Develop and maintain performance models, KPIs, and technical insights for reliable operations and informed decisions.
• Evaluate technical concepts and opportunities for alignment with business objectives.
• Provide technical oversight for projects, asset integrity programs, and operations engineering initiatives.
• Lead engineering governance as Technical Authority for process engineering and related disciplines.
• Coach and mentor engineers and project teams; promote technical excellence and continuous improvement.
