Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer in the EPCM sector in Calgary, Alberta.
Our client is a trusted EPC and fabrication partner with 20 years of experience delivering oil and gas projects. We seek a self-motivated, experienced, high-performing Senior Process Engineer with demonstrated leadership skills across all project phases, including design and construction of oil, gas, and energy projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead process design from conceptual phase through completion, liaising with management on project activity and status.
- Develop project process deliverables such as Process Design Criteria, Process simulations, Heat & Material Balance, PFDs, P&IDs, process narratives, control philosophy, and process calculations across all engineering stages including conceptual, FEED, detailed, and execution.
- Perform feasibility studies, conceptual design, unit optimization, troubleshooting, de-bottlenecking, and other process studies during the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, fabrication shops, and construction teams. Manage relationships with external stakeholders on a project basis.
- Participate in major reviews such as design reviews, 3D-model, HAZOP, and LOPA meetings, and oversee resolution of action items.
- Provide technical and on-site support during construction, commissioning, start-up, or operational improvements.
- Assist in proposal development and man-hour estimates.
Requirements:
- Professional Engineer with a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant process engineering experience in oil and gas, including gas plants, wellsites, oil batteries, and liquid gathering and handling facilities. EPCM experience is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence decisions.
- Hands-on experience supporting field start-up, plant operation, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in process engineering tools such as HYSYS and Flarenet, and skills in process equipment sizing and calculations.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in preparing process man-hour estimates and developing proposals.
- Ability to support on-site construction, commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities.
