Qualifications

Our Ideal Candidate

We are currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer for our Calgary office. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for conceptual design, front-end and detailed engineering of process plants including the development of PFDs, P&IDs, controls, logic, safety systems, etc. Leading and mentoring junior engineers is also a key responsibility.

A Day in the Life

Using your organizational, communication and people skills, you will work with a team of junior process engineers to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in an industrial setting specifically Oil & Gas including Oil Sands, Conventional oil and natural gas processing facilities
  • Detailed knowledge of process design, process simulation, equipment sizing and hydraulic analysis
  • Experience in the development of PFDs, PIDs and other process engineering documentation
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a small team of junior engineers
  • HAZOP/Operability studies experience
  • Ability to lead the engineering efforts on small to medium size process projects
  • Ability to manage budget and schedule of small to medium size projects
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls engineering principles
  • Experience with mechanical equipment selection
  • Ability to develop and foster strong relationships with clients to ensure their expectations are understood and delivered upon
  • Experience in developing technical and commercial proposals for new projects
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-discipline environment
