Job summary

Tetranex Solutions, an Alberta-based engineering and procurement company, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead process engineering on SAGD-focused projects from Calgary. You will mentor a team, manage budgets, prepare P&IDs, PFDs, and detailed process deliverables, and coordinate with disciplines and clients.

The role requires a P.Eng. with APEGA, 10+ years of experience in SAGD, and expertise in UniSim/HYSYS, with strong communication and organizational skills to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience.
• Demonstrated SAGD process engineering experience is required.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
• Proficient with Honeywell UniSim and Aspen HYSYS process simulation software.
• Familiar with API STD 521, API STD 520 Part 1 & Part 2, API RP 14E, ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, ASME Section VIII Div. 1.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors.
• Self-motivated and capable of working in a collaborative project team environment.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects as the senior process engineer with minimal supervision.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to multiple process engineering team members assigned to projects.
• Coordinate, delegate and supervise the assignment and execution of all process engineering work related to the project scope.
• Complete process engineering resource hour estimates for and manage the budget throughout project execution.
• Provide input into project schedules, support change notices, and coordinate with project controls department.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and the project team regarding project status.
• Attend client meetings (P&ID reviews, CP/SDK reviews, HAZOPs, ORAs, etc.) as the process engineering representative.
• Generate detailed process calculations and associated reports (hydraulics/line sizing, relief valve sizing, control valve sizing, equipment sizing, etc.).
• Review detailed process calculations completed by other members of the process team.
• Prepare PDBs, P&IDs, PFDs, LDTs, car seal lists, engineered set point lists, equipment datasheets, and other process deliverables.
• Develop detailed process simulations using Honeywell UniSim and Aspen HYSYS.
• Review control philosophies and SDKs.
• Experience with oil and gas, particularly SAGD projects, is considered an asset.
