Apex Systems is a global IT services provider with a staffing practice currently seeking a Senior Reporting Developer experienced in Power BI, SQL Queries & Development, algorithms/data structures, and some knowledge of Oracle for a top Financial Institution.

Terms: 1-year rolling contract (3-year project)

Location: Downtown Toronto (3 days/week onsite)

Our client's Delivery Enablement team is looking for a Report Developer to support automation of regular and ad-hoc reporting focused on engineering value delivery. The team produces cyclical and ad-hoc reports covering Project Portfolio Execution, Risk Remediation, and Change Management. They are automating report production and standardizing processes for consistency.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain data analytics and reporting solutions for Project Portfolio Management.
• Collaborate with project and portfolio management practitioners to support report adoption, validate data, and gather feature requests.
• Work with SMEs to understand data requirements and translate them into data models.
• Assemble large, complex data sets, identify logical connections, and automate data validation and ETL processes.
• Contribute to the evolution of Project Portfolio Management processes and tools.

Key Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience defining and establishing solutions for complex corporate systems as a Reporting or BI Developer.
• Strong technical background with experience in relational databases, data quality, analytics, ETL, and reporting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a software engineering background.
• Outcome-oriented, capable of delivery and execution, able to identify risks and resolve issues quickly, influence outcomes across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to think abstractly and simplify complex issues into actionable tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
