About The Role
Capgemini is hiring a Senior Power BI Developer / Visual Analytics Consultant with 7+ years of experience working in office 3 days per week in North York, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Perform Discovery and Determine Scope
- Analyze data via SQL queries to assess structure, granularity, quality, and fit for analytics.
- Gather, document, and validate detailed business requirements.
- Discover, define, and document innovative, actionable analytics and KPIs.
- Prepare high-level project plans including required activities, resources, and timeframes.
- Recommend the appropriate analytics delivery method based on scenarios.
- Understand when to recommend Power BI platform, mobile, and Embedded Analytics options.
- Evaluate, Prepare, and Connect to Data
- Plan and implement Power BI connections to data sources such as Snowflake, Redshift, Google Cloud SQL, and Azure SQL.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to prepare efficient data sets.
- Create views and aggregate data within Cloud data warehouses.
- Handle data sourcing, connections, settings, queries, and performance issues.
- Clean, transform, and load data.
- Plan and Implement Data Models & DAX
- Recommend calculation methods via Power BI or Data Warehouse.
- Design data models including tables, relationships, measures, hierarchies, and performance considerations.
- Develop data models with filtering, calculated tables/columns, and row-level security.
- Create measures using DAX for complex calculations.
- Optimize model performance through aggregations and other techniques.
- Design Dashboards and Develop Visualizations/Reports
- Implement performance best practices.
- Develop visualizations for insightful, actionable business use.
- Design dashboards based on best practices and requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate dashboards.
- Support UAT, performance testing, and deployment.
- Create dashboards with features like mobile access, Q&A, data alerts.
- Enrich reports with drill-through, drilldown, slicers, and exports.
- Enable Insightful Analysis & AI
- Enhance reports with conditional formatting, top N analysis, Quick Insights.
- Perform advanced analysis using grouping, bins, AI Insights.
- Deploy Assets and Maintain Access
- Manage datasets, scheduled refreshes, security, and dependencies.
- Create and manage workspaces, roles, pipelines, subscriptions, content promotion, and lifecycle.
Qualifications
- 7 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced skills in SQL queries.
- Data storytelling and analytical curiosity.
- Leadership and coaching abilities.
- Microsoft Power BI certifications, especially PL-300.
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Data Warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Google, Azure).
- Python skills in full-stack environments.
