Job summary

BeachHead Inc. is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to join our Capital Markets technology team.

You’ll design and deliver executive-ready dashboards, transform complex financial data into clear narratives, and partner with stakeholders to answer strategic questions. You will build robust semantic models using star schemas, develop advanced DAX calculations, and optimize reports for performance and security, including Row and Object Level Security.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering enterprise Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong DAX and Power Query (M) skills for complex calculations.
• Data modelling using star schema and dimensional modelling principles.
• Experience building semantic models for Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Knowledge of RLS and OLS in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Git-based Power BI development and PBIP files.
• Ability to translate business questions into reporting solutions and data narratives.
• Experience collaborating with Databricks data engineering teams.

Are you a skilled Power BI Developer passionate about transforming complex data into clear, compelling insights? Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior PowerBI / DAX Developer- Capital Markets to join a Capital Markets technology team supporting a major Client Reporting Optimization and Integration initiative. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing existing reporting applications, delivering sophisticated, high-quality dashboards and reports that inform leadership decisions and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop executive-ready Power BI reports and dashboards that communicate clear business narratives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into effective reporting solutions
• Recommend report layouts, visualizations, and information structures to best meet business needs
• Build and maintain robust semantic models using star schema and dimensional modelling principles
• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculation groups, and time intelligence calculations
• Create efficient data transformation processes using Power Query and M
• Work with complex Capital Markets data to translate analytical requirements into structured measures and dimensions
• Develop new reporting solutions and enhance existing Power BI applications
• Optimize models and reports for performance, usability, and scalability
• Implement enterprise security controls including Row Level Security and Object Level Security
• Manage Power BI Service workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines
• Support CI/CD deployment practices using Git-integrated PBIP
• Use tools such as Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, Best Practice Analyzer, and Performance Analyzer for solution development and optimization
• Collaborate with Databricks data engineering and Business Systems Analysis teams to ensure effective leveraging of underlying data architecture
• Stay current with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Copilot, and emerging Microsoft AI capabilities
• Present reporting solutions and clearly articulate complex data insights to both technical and business audiences

Desired Skill-Set

• Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions
• Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M language)
• Strong data modelling skills, including star schema and dimensional modelling
• Experience building semantic models for Power BI reports
• Expertise with calculation groups and advanced time intelligence
• Knowledge of Import, DirectQuery, and Composite models
• Experience with Power BI Service, workspaces, datasets, and deployment pipelines
• Proven ability to implement RLS and OLS in enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Git-based Power BI development and PBIP files
• Understanding of supporting CI/CD deployment processes
• Power BI performance optimization skills
• Strong business analysis and data storytelling capabilities
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to identify needs and present insights

Nice to Have

• Experience in Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, or Financial Services
• Experience consuming data from Azure Databricks
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Copilot AI visuals

• Experience working with revenue, risk, client profitability, or financial reporting data
• Demonstration of Power BI dashboards or portfolios during interviews
