Job summary

ITC Infotech is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Power BI Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade dashboards and semantic models. You will partner with stakeholders, BSAs, and data teams to translate KPIs into scalable reporting solutions.

The role requires strong hands-on Power BI development, advanced DAX, performance tuning, governance, security, and mentoring junior developers while ensuring delivery quality and consistency. Seniority and leadership focus are essential.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of IT/data analytics with hands-on Power BI enterprise reporting.
• Expertise in Power BI Desktop/Service, DAX, data modeling and KPI design.
• Strong SQL for data analysis and performance tuning.
• Experience implementing RLS, workspace governance, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience using Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and Performance Analyzer.
• Agile delivery experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Senior / Lead Power BI Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade dashboards and semantic models. The candidate will partner with business stakeholders, BSAs, data engineering teams, and delivery leads to translate KPIs and business requirements into scalable reporting solutions. The role requires strong hands-on Power BI development, advanced DAX, performance tuning, governance, security, and the ability to mentor junior developers while ensuring delivery quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities / Daily Deliverables

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic models, dashboards, paginated reports, and interactive reports aligned to business KPIs.
• Translate business requirements and KPI definitions into optimized reporting solutions in partnership with BSAs, product owners, and data teams.
• Build and optimize data models using star schema principles, calculated columns, measures, relationships, aggregations, and composite models as needed.
• Develop, review, and tune advanced DAX measures for performance, accuracy, maintainability, and reusability.
• Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS), object-level security where applicable, workspace access, and Power BI governance standards.
• Publish, manage, and monitor reports and datasets in Power BI Service, including refresh schedules, gateways, deployment pipelines, subscriptions, and usage metrics.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on source data validation, SQL queries, data quality issues, lineage, and integration dependencies.
• Perform report performance analysis using Performance Analyzer, Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and Power BI best practices.
• Support release management activities including version control, peer reviews, deployment readiness, defect resolution, and production support.
• Mentor junior Power BI developers and provide technical guidance on design, development, testing, and documentation standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10-12 years of overall IT / data analytics experience with significant hands-on experience in Power BI development and enterprise reporting delivery.
• Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, DAX, data modeling, semantic model design, and report visualization standards.
• Advanced DAX skills with experience creating complex measures, calculation groups, time intelligence, KPI logic, and reusable business metrics.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, performance tuning, and working with relational or cloud data platforms.
• Experience implementing RLS, workspace governance, deployment pipelines, report certification / endorsement, and access management.
• Experience using Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, Performance Analyzer, and Power BI monitoring / optimization techniques.
• Good understanding of data warehouse concepts, star schema, slowly changing dimensions, incremental refresh, and data quality validation.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with Azure DevOps or similar tools for backlog, sprint, release, and defect tracking.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with business stakeholders, BSAs, data engineers, QA teams, and leadership stakeholders.

Copilot / AI Productivity Enablement

• Use Power BI Copilot and approved AI productivity tools to accelerate DAX generation, measure documentation, report summarization, and visual narrative creation.
• Validate all AI-generated DAX, summaries, and report descriptions for accuracy, performance, security, and business alignment before use.
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity in documentation, testing scenarios, KPI interpretation, and user-facing report explanations while adhering to data privacy and security guidelines.

Delivery Foundation: Versioning, Documentation, and Workflow

• Maintain version-controlled PBIX / PBIP artifacts, model definitions, and related documentation using Git or the agreed repository structure.
• Document report purpose, KPI definitions, source tables, data lineage, refresh dependencies, RLS configuration, assumptions, and known limitations.
• Follow defined development workflow including requirements validation, design review, peer review, testing evidence, release notes, and production deployment checklist.
• Ensure reports are designed for maintainability, scalability, accessibility, and consistent user experience across the portfolio.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse / Warehouse, Direct Lake, or Fabric data pipelines.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, or other enterprise cloud data platforms.
• Experience creating executive dashboards, operational KPI dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions.
• Exposure to Power BI tenant governance, capacity management, premium features, and usage adoption reporting.
