Job summary

Building Ontario Fund is seeking a Senior Policy Advisor for a full-time vacancy in Toronto. The role focuses on policy development, advisory leadership, and collaboration with ministries to advance BOF objectives.

You will lead analytical research, assessments of policy frameworks, and the impact of proposed infrastructure projects. The position emphasizes independence, stakeholder engagement, and delivering well-supported recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of financial systems and financing tools.
• Knowledge of investment structure and frameworks, particularly infrastructure investments.
• Knowledge of BOF’s mandate/ strategic directions and policy frameworks.
• Advisory and leadership skills to provide policy expertise and guidance.
• Interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills for stakeholder alignment.
• Relationship building and consensus building with ministries and boards.
• Knowledge of research and analytical techniques.
• Ability to define issues, identify implications, and make recommendations.
• Proficiency in presenting options and risks to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide policy subject-matter expertise for deal teams.
• Lead policy development and research to support recommended options.
• Advise senior management on regulatory and operational frameworks.
• Build and maintain relationships with ministries and stakeholders.
• Deliver technical consulting and guidance to internal/external partners.
• Assess policy effectiveness against BOF mandate and risks.
• Develop in-depth reports and present recommendations.
• Keep current on provincial and national policy trends.
• Coordinate end-to-end policy development and decision making.
