Job summary

Systemex Group is seeking a Senior PLC Programmer to design, develop, test, and maintain high-performing industrial control systems for our Automation division in Laval, Quebec. You will work with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron platforms, develop ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver turnkey automation projects.

French is mandatory; English is also required for internal and external communication.

Qualifications

Degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
8+ years of hands-on PLC programming and industrial automation experience.
Knowledge of SCADA systems, HMI software, and instrumentation; robotics is an asset.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and optimize PLC and HMI programs for automation systems.
Program in ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks with clear documentation.
Integrate PLC systems with HMIs, sensors, actuators, and industrial protocols.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams for seamless integration.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, update, and improve existing control systems to minimize downtime.
Participate in project commissioning, FAT/SAT testing, and on-site troubleshooting.
Lead or support automation projects from design through completion with budgets.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, ISO, IEC standards; mentor junior engineers.
