Job summary

AtkinsRéalis, a Canada-based engineering group, seeks a senior Computer Systems Engineer to act as project technical lead for safety/control systems in nuclear projects in Mississauga. You will interface with the client and internal teams to define requirements and oversee design, development and V&V activities.

### **Job Description**## **Overview** The Computer Systems Engineering department is responsible for digital instrumentation and control equipment for projects involving control, monitoring, and operator displays in the nuclear island for our existing customers and new builds. The department is responsible for digital system design, equipment selection and procurement, and all software activities. ## **Your role*** Acts as project technical lead, has prime technical and commercial interface with the client and internal engineering and commercial groups on projects of substantial scale and complexity.* Participate in conceptual design of safety/control systems to define system requirements, computer system architecture/design, product /tool technologies and evaluate system performance and reliability.* Evaluate computer vendor products and prepare procedures/guides for implementing such products into computer software design, development and V&V processes.* Manage assigned work effectively, including prioritizing, executing, managing schedule and budget and reporting to meet project goals* Preparation of system/software change request for modifications to existing systems/software* Prepare requirements and develop tools for test/development systems as needed for production of safety critical software* Execute software engineering tasks including software requirements specification, software design description, coding, verification, testing and documentation* Asist in planning activities associated with design, verification and testing of computerized safety/control systems* Develop software and scripts using a variety of programming languages/toolsets/environments including, but not limited to IEC61131-3 languages, C C++ Visual Studio, Labview, XML.* Test script development using in-house developed scripting languages for software/system V&V testing* Update and/or prepare computer engineering design documents including SRS/SDD and software manuals* Interface with various engineering disciplines, suppliers, and other divisions within the company ## **About you** * Honours degree in a relevant field of engineering from a university of recognized standing.
