Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks a Junior Instrumentation Control and Electrical Engineer to join the Retube Tooling & Field Services Department, supporting advanced nuclear tooling systems in reactor refurbishment projects.

You will develop PLC, HMI, SCADA, LabVIEW, and DAQ applications, assist with system integration, testing, commissioning, and field support across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and eligibility for P.Eng. registration.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in instrumentation, controls, automation, or related industrial projects.
• Experience with Siemens PLC programming, including TIA Portal and Step 7; familiarity with industrial networking (PROFIBUS/PROFINET).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC or equivalent).
• Knowledge of engineering change control, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation, control, automation, and electrical systems.
• Develop and support PLC, HMI, SCADA, LabVIEW, and DAQ applications and industrial network deployments.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, procedures, reports, commissioning plans, and operation manuals.
• Participate in system integration, testing, validation, FAT, DVT, CCT, and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, electrical, controls, and software issues during testing and field operations.
• Support field deployment, outage execution, equipment maintenance, and commissioning activities at nuclear generating stations.
• Collaborate with project teams, vendors, manufacturing personnel, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

### **Job Description**## **Overview**AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Junior Instrumentation Control and Electrical Engineer to join the Retube Tooling & Field Services Department. This role is ideal for an engineer looking to build expertise in instrumentation, automation, electrical systems, testing, and field execution while supporting advanced nuclear tooling systems used in reactor refurbishment projects.
