Job summary

Scheffer Andrew Ltd. in Edmonton, AB, is seeking a Planning Manager to lead its planning practice across Alberta. You will guide complex land development and municipal projects, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships with public and private sector clients.

The role requires an urban planning degree, RPP eligibility, and at least 15 years of land use planning experience in Alberta, with proven leadership, proposal development, and effective public engagement.

Qualifications

  • Urban planning degree or equivalent with RPP eligibility.
  • Minimum 15 years land use planning experience in Alberta.
  • Experience leading land development and municipal approvals.
  • Familiarity with ASPs, outline plans, redistricting, subdivision design.
  • Experience presenting to Councils and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex land development and municipal planning projects through approvals.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, resources, client expectations, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Provide senior technical guidance, prepare and deliver presentations, and support public engagement with clients, municipalities, stakeholders, and approval authorities.
  • Support proposals, work plans, fee estimates, budget tracking, invoicing review, and project reporting.
  • Mentor staff and promote accountability, collaboration, technical development, and strong client service.
