Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC is seeking an ASIC Engineer to define, model, and design IP across digital and/or analog domains. You will drive the backend implementation flow, floor-planning, and power planning while supporting Front-End teams with PPA optimization.

You will leverage LLM/EDA tools for optimization, perform Place & Route with focus on power and area, and address timing: Synthesis, verification, and physical signoff. Collaboration and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Or PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Drive the backend process through the entire implementation flow.
• Floor-planning/ Block Partitioning /Power Planning.
• Support Front-End team in performing PPA optimization trials.
• Leverage LLM and EDA tools to drive PPA optimization.
• Place & Route with special focus on power and area optimization.
• Clock Tree Synthesis/Inspection/Optimization.
• Static timing verification and timing closure experience.
• Perform physical verification and fixing (DRC, ANT, DFM, LVS, ERC,…)
• Perform EM/IR signoff and address power integrity issues.

Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional groups to determine product execution path.

Minimum Qualifications

OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

• 7+ years of Physical Design experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Low-Power Designs experience desired
• SOC design experience is desired
• Advanced technology node experience desired

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

$104,900.00 - $154,900.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
