Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Toronto is seeking a Senior Manager, Permitting to lead the owner’s permitting obligations on a large-scale airport program. You will manage the Permitting team and coordinate a robust permit-to-work process across the program.

You will develop governance and processes for effective permitting, liaise with safety, security, operations, commercial and maintenance, and report to senior leadership with insights and actions to improve delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience.
• At least 10 years in on-site permitting management or leadership.
• Minimum 5 years on large international airport projects CAD 500M+.
• Proven ability to manage teams and senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong knowledge of permitting policies and health, safety, security impacts.
• Experience across design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the owner’s permitting obligations.
• Manage Permitting team and coordinate permit-to-work processes.
• Develop revised governance and processes for permitting on a large program.
• Coordinate with corporate safety, security, operations, commercial, and maintenance.
• Confirm contractor Permitting plans and implement assurance regime.
• Collaborate to ensure Permitting is integrated across the program.
• Provide management and executive reporting; advise on trends and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on permitting policy and regulations affecting delivery.
• Coach, mentor and support staff development.
