Job summary

Semtech Corporation designs innovative semiconductor solutions and intellectual property cores for advanced consumer connectivity and data communications products. We are looking for a motivated PCB Design Engineer to join our R&D hardware design team.

The successful candidate will contribute by delivering high‑speed board design and assembly for performance measurement of semiconductor products, with a strong focus on high‑speed layout and cross‑functional collaboration with suppliers and teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s program in Engineering or Physics with 10–15 years of experience.
  • Plus degrees/certifications related to high‑speed electrical modeling.
  • Self‑motivated with ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Organized and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Cadence APD and Allegro advanced knowledge.
  • Lab test and measurement with VNAs and high‑speed scopes.

Responsibilities

  • Hardware development.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and system‑level signal integrity analysis using Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
  • Manage contractors through design and verification of hardware designs.
  • Develop evaluation platforms using up‑to‑date BOMs, design tools and manufacturing rules.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will become a key member of the design engineering community of the Signal Integrity Products business unit. You will contribute by delivering innovative high‑speed board design and assembly for the purpose of performance measurement of semiconductor products. The successful candidate must demonstrate solid knowledge in high‑speed layout and electronic design. This role offers a tremendous opportunity for growth and development in card design as well as electrical modeling. A natural ability to interface in parallel with several cross‑functional teams internally, while coordinating with several local and international suppliers is a must.

Responsibilities
  • Hardware Development
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and system level signal integrity analysis and optimization using platforms such as Cadence Allegro/OrCAD
  • Manage Contractors through the definition, design and verification of hardware designs
  • Develop Evaluation Platforms using cutting‑edge bill of material, design tools and manufacturing design rules
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s program in Engineering or Physics or another discipline relevant to this position with 10 to 15 years of experience
  • Additional degrees/certifications related to high‑speed electrical modeling would be a definite advantage
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Organized and highly adaptable – enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to communicate and work well with other team members
  • High degree of creativity, determination, and innovation
  • RF, Analog, and digital circuit understanding
  • Cadence APD and Allegro advanced knowledge
  • Lab test and measurement, debugging, optimizing hardware using sophisticated lab equipment such as VNAs and high‑speed scopes and probe stations
Additional Skills
  • Familiar with a variety of PCBA technologies, including Chip On Board, wirebond, flip chip, optical‑electronic devices and high‑speed connectors
  • High‑speed modeling tools such as HFSS
  • Familiar with microcontrollers and FPGA
  • Experience with troubleshooting PCBs and systems

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job‑related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
