Qualifications

Job description

To expand our team, we are looking for a Senior Payroll & Pension Analyst who will be REMOTE but willing to travel up to 20%, including a few days in one of our Canadian offices (Burlington, Kitchener, or Peterborough) every other month. This role will work closely with HR admin and operations in Canada, coordinating and aligning activities across all Canadian locations.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinate the processing of all global payroll cycles, including regular and off-cycle runs.
  2. Perform info type and time comparisons before each payroll to ensure SAP and payroll system accuracy.
  3. Check payroll reports for issues and conduct root cause analysis for corrections.
  4. Lead and guide on time systems for payroll/time projects.
  5. Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and coordinate global payroll funding and third-party payments.
  6. Address employee and non-employee payroll inquiries and explore opportunities to enhance Tier I support capabilities.
  7. Assist with year-end processes and government forms for all countries.
  8. Review retro pay adjustments for accuracy.
  9. Prepare payroll forecast vs. actual reports for analysis and cash flow planning.
  10. Collaborate with payroll providers to resolve processing issues and improve procedures.
  11. Establish and report on global payroll metrics, recommending process improvements.
  12. Work with providers to resolve payroll issues and manage ticketing system entries.
  13. Participate in payroll projects to enhance processes.
  14. Manage reporting for pension and benefits contributions and employer matching.
  15. Maintain accurate payroll and pension records with HR and Finance systems, ensuring proper reporting.
  16. Resolve salary, benefits, and pension account issues.
  17. Work within SLAs in the ticketing system, reporting results and implementing improvements.
  18. Perform additional duties as assigned by payroll management.
  19. Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.

Who You Are:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, including global payroll processing.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in high-volume global payroll processing.
  3. Experience handling Tier 2 and Tier 3 payroll inquiries professionally and promptly.
  4. Proficiency with SAP / SuccessFactors.
  5. Experience with outsourced payroll organizations.
  6. High integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy commitment.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with tight deadlines.
  8. Strong work ethic, team orientation, and customer service skills.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Willingness to work flexible hours to meet payroll deadlines.
