We are looking for a Senior Payroll & Pension Analyst who will work remotely, with willingness to travel up to 20%, including occasional visits to our offices in Burlington, Kitchener, or Peterborough, Canada, every other month. The role involves close collaboration with HR admin and operations across Canada to coordinate activities and ensure alignment.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate global payroll cycles, including regular and off-cycle runs.
- Verify data accuracy in SAP and payroll systems before processing.
- Check payroll reports for issues and conduct root cause analysis for corrections.
- Guide on time systems related to payroll projects.
- Reconcile payroll with the general ledger and oversee global payroll funding and third-party payments.
- Respond to Tier 2 and Tier 3 payroll inquiries from employees and non-employees, and explore opportunities to improve Tier I support.
- Assist with year-end processes, including government reporting.
- Review retro pay adjustments for accuracy.
- Prepare payroll forecasts and analyze variances for treasury reporting.
- Collaborate with payroll providers to resolve processing issues and improve procedures.
- Establish and report on global payroll metrics, recommending process improvements.
- Coordinate with providers to resolve payroll issues and manage support tickets.
- Participate in payroll projects aimed at continuous improvement.
- Manage reporting related to pension and benefits contributions and employer matching.
- Maintain accurate payroll and pension records in HR and finance systems.
- Resolve issues related to salary, benefits, and pension accounts.
- Monitor SLA performance within ticketing systems, reporting results and suggesting improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by payroll management.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in global payroll processing.
- At least 3 years of experience in high-volume global payroll environments.
- Proficient in handling Tier 2 and Tier 3 payroll inquiries professionally and timely.
- Experience with SAP and SuccessFactors.
- Background in outsourced payroll services.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, team-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet payroll deadlines.
