Position: Senior Payroll Coordinator

Reporting to: HR People Operations Manager

Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000

Work Type: In-office, Full-time, Monday–Friday

Job Purpose

The Senior Payroll Coordinator is an experienced payroll professional responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across all Primacorp entities. This role serves as a subject matter expert in payroll processes, systems, and compliance. The Senior Payroll Coordinator ensures payroll activities align with organizational policies and regulatory standards, while maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency in full-cycle payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process full-cycle payroll for multiple entities in accordance with strict deadlines
• Calculate, verify, and process documentation related to wage and salary adjustments, employment changes, tax withholdings, and deductions
• Ensure payroll calculations comply with company policies, employment agreements, and legislative requirements
• Interpret and apply federal and provincial payroll regulations across multiple jurisdictions
• Assist with payroll cost allocation and general ledger entries
• Perform year-end tasks, including T4/T4A generation, reconciliations, and balancing
• Run and analyze payroll reports including vacation, bonuses, statutory holiday pay, and other earnings or deductions
• Coordinate employer health tax (EHT) and Workers’ Compensation (WCB) filings across provinces
• Provide guidance and clarification to internal stakeholders on payroll policies and processes
• Troubleshoot payroll issues and collaborate with HR and Finance teams as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection standards
• Minimum 3 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and standards
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll scenarios across multiple jurisdictions
• Completion of payroll courses; actively working toward or possessing a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation

Key Competencies – Nice to Have

• Experience using SAP and/or SuccessFactors payroll systems
• Familiarity with training peers or sharing knowledge within a team setting
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll issues to non-payroll staff
