Jobgether on behalf of a partner company seeks a Senior Payroll Analyst, bilingual in English and French, based in Canada, for a 12-month contract to support Canadian payroll operations during a leave. The role covers complex multi-provincial payroll, reconciliations, remittances, year-end reporting, and enhancements to Workday Payroll.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst, Bilingual based in Canada.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity supporting Canadian payroll operations during a leave coverage period.
The role serves as a senior technical resource responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant multi-provincial payroll delivery.
You will work across complex payroll activities, including reconciliations, statutory remittances, year-end reporting, and issue resolution.
The position also offers an opportunity to contribute to Workday Payroll enhancements, testing, process improvements, and operational initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Tax, Treasury, HRIS, external partners, and auditors across a highly cross-functional environment.
As a senior payroll professional, you will also provide technical guidance to colleagues and help strengthen controls, documentation, and efficiency.
Strong Canadian payroll expertise, bilingual communication skills, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail are essential for success.

Accountabilities:

• Lead complex Canadian multi-provincial payroll activities, including payroll processing, balancing, validation, reconciliations, statutory remittances, and year-end reporting, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll matters, including retroactive calculations, corrections, variances, escalations, and employee inquiries, ensuring issues are addressed accurately and within critical deadlines.
• Act as a Workday Payroll subject matter expert by supporting configuration activities, testing, user acceptance testing, system enhancements, payroll-related changes, implementations, and other technology initiatives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes, documentation, internal controls, automation, and operational efficiency across the payroll function.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Treasury, Tax, HRIS, external vendors, and auditors to resolve payroll matters, support audit requirements, and ensure effective coordination across business functions.
• Mentor Payroll Analysts by providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and supporting the resolution of complex payroll scenarios.
• Prepare payroll reports and insights while contributing to acquisitions, integrations, system implementations, and other special payroll projects as required.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of progressive Canadian payroll experience supporting large, multi-provincial payroll environments, with advanced knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory remittances, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
• PCP designation is required, while a PLP designation is considered an asset.
• Hands-on Workday Payroll experience is required, including exposure to testing, system enhancements, payroll-related changes, implementations, process improvements, or payroll projects.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, problem-solving, Excel, and organizational skills are essential, combined with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage critical payroll deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly to employees, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written English and French is required to support employees and business partners across Canada.
• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work primarily onsite in Toronto, with Fridays designated as work-from-home.
