Lime is seeking a senior backend engineer for the Payments and Fraud team in Canada. You will define technical direction, ship critical payment and fraud features, and collaborate across product, design, and data teams to deliver a reliable, scalable customer experience.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software development, experience in payments or fraud mitigation, an owner mindset, and strong leadership and data-driven decision capabilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Domain: you've shipped software in payment processing, accounting, or fraud mitigation.
• Owner's mindset: focused on outcomes and solving problems.
• Team leader: able to deliver large outcomes through many engineers.
• Data driven: instrument work for decision making and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the technical direction for payment processing, fraud prevention, and financial-data platforms.
• Ship complex projects by collaborating with engineers, product managers, designers, data scientists, and support/finance.
• Build scalable features and robust platforms processing millions of transactions.
• Monitor system health and use data analytics to improve reliability and performance.
• Engage with infrastructure and AI tooling to boost engineering effectiveness.
• Grow via mentorship and collaboration within the team.
• Participate in shaping Lime's engineering culture and on-call rotations.
