Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee project scope, schedule, capital cost estimates, execution planning, risks, and information for facility projects.
• Ensure facilities comply with regulations, codes, and standards.
• Review and approve design drawings, reports, and material listings.
• Manage third-party design work against budget and schedule.
• Review vendor quotations and provide recommendations based on merit and price.

What Will You Do:

• Oversees the development of the project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks, and supporting information related to assigned facility projects.
• Ensures that all facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate standards.
• This includes reviewing and approving design work for example drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets.
• Manages the execution of the design work by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.
• Reviews vendor materials quotations, prepares technical evaluations, and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery, e.g., turbine/compressor packages, equipment vessels, buildings, pipe, valves, and fittings.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team or others based upon technical expertise.

Who You Are:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Professional Technologist (P Tech Eng) designation is an asset.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering and project management.
• Effective interpersonal skills to communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff.
• Strong understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes.
• Ability to review technical documents, evaluate vendor quotations, and recommend selections.
• Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
• A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally for work.

Working Conditions:

Office based role. Overnight business trips to the field may be required up to 25% of the time.
