Senior DBA

Are you ready to take your DBA skills to a Senior level? As a valued member of the IT Team, you will ensure the successful support, maintenance, performance, security, and recoverability of all highly transactional databases throughout Canada and the USA, serving countries throughout the world.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Manage and optimize database systems, ensuring data integrity and availability. Investigate and troubleshoot issues, automate tasks to improve efficiency, and perform routine configuration.
• Oversee database standards, responsibilities, and methodology, manage research and development projects, and work alongside high-performing colleagues.
• Design, code, and test complex programs and integration software services. Collaborate with professionals to ensure optimal database functionality.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve database and system issues. Collaborate with the team to implement solutions, preventative measures, and improve future problem-solving processes. Interpret installation standards to meet project needs and develop physical database design elements to meet data requirements.
• Apply controls and procedures to develop and implement requests for change. Maintain documentation of database systems and procedures.
• Maintain application support processes, use application management software to investigate issues, collect performance statistics, and create reports. Investigate and resolve system problems, collaborate with others to implement remedies and preventative measures, and support the improvement of problem management processes. Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

As the successful candidate, you will bring :

EDUCATION :

Computer Science Degree / Diploma.

EXPERIENCE :

• 8+ years of relevant DBA experience.
• Progressive experience in an Oracle database administration (DBA) role.

TECHNICAL / COMPUTER :

• Strong Oracle DBA skills and experience, supported by in-depth knowledge of database server operating systems.
• SQL DBA experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with the fundamental principles of ITIL and experience troubleshooting Oracle, DB2, and SQL databases in an enterprise environment.
